Another stressful day yesterday as the docs were really worried that Ellis' body might be rejecting the heart. She went NPO again for most of the day. Her tummy was killing her and Genevieve and Shea worked hard to get that system working again.
Cardiac catheterization was performed last night and Ellis came out of surgery feeling good.
This am sees Ellis sitting up and smiling. The renal team wants to hold off on dialysis right now to give her kidneys time to recover. We are now running around acquiring low potassium rich foods which are safe for immunosuppressed and post transplant patients. Does that hurt your brain?
Ellis is eating! Fluid restriction is high though to relieve kidneys.
Results of heart tissue biopsy are not known at this time.
More info later. Send her kidneys good thoughts!
