Rocktober 11

During Rounds this am we learned how responsive Ellis' heart was to the test performed during catheterization yesterday. While her arterial and pulmonary pressures were abnormally high they greatly reduced when the lungs were giving O2 and N2O. Really good sign.

Dr. Law, the transplant team lead is off this week, but Dr. Kemna was there again this AM. Medically, they are going to increase Ellis' milrinone dosing to see if we can get the pressures down. Too bad that means she'll need to back to the ICU for a few days/nights. Needless to say she's disappointed. Also, the docs were talking about several weeks more after that on the floor. It's a marathon!
So, things that can help boost her spirits are notes, cards, emails and especially pictures. If you have any photos you'd like to get to her, please email them to me and I'll print and get to her. You can probably send stuff directly to her @ Children's. Her room #'s might change, so contact the hospital, please. Click this link.
She's a real picky eater, but mom and dad are finding some fairly good fare nearby for her. We might just completely bag the hospital meals. See the pic below to see one of her favorite dishes.
