Post Surgery Day 6

An inglorious start with a bit of vomiting and massive headaches for poor Ellis. 4am chest X-ray and blood draw. 9:00 a echocardiogram. A med here and one there. Enough to make anyone queasy. The docs are great, but sometimes the body needs a break.
Anyway with a little hug time with mom and a bit of pain killer Ellis had some food throughout the day and it looks as if she has fought of the NG tube for another day.
Tomorrow the nasal cannula comes off, the arterial line came out today and she's being weaned off several drugs. All positive signs! The nurses are so good.
Yesterday Anna brought a colleague in and washed her hair in bed. They leave detailed briefs on exactly what Ellis likes/dislikes that the care is very consistent.
